I have heard of this type of pain. It is due to your uterus pressing down on your cyatic nerve. I think that it is soon for your uterus to be doing that because it isn't as big right now. I would check with the doctor to be sure of this.

As the mother of 7...let me just say...Sweety...you will have all kinds of pains, slip ups, discomforts all through your pregnancy but if anything (including labor & delivery) was as bad as people say, who would have more than 1 child?
That being said, if you're putting on that kind of weight and you have that kind of discomfort this early, you need to see your doctor...it could be anything from kidney infection to toxemia to problems with the placenta....Don't Guess! Go to the doctor.
If you can't afford a doctor, go to a clinic or an emergency room...It's always better safe than sorry.

Just for precaution I believe you need to call your doctor and tell the nurse about your pains. It may be nothing but then you don't want to think that either. When I was pregnant I didn't experience that. I had a 11lbs child. So good luck to you!!!

I had Ischias trouble with my 1st pregnancy adn that was lower back pain. Furthermore the weight gain could have to do with it, but I am nto sure about that. You could talk to your midwife about it, usually they have very good ideas on massage and diet on how to prevent and solve those types of problems.

Check that the baby is properly in the uterus. 10 pounds is way too much in the first trimester. Check with your doctor. It could also be a bladder infection.

If I were you I would call my Dr. and ask. Consistent lower back pain can be a bad sign. Then again your dates may be wrong and you may be further along then you suspected. CALL YOUR DR!! Good luck!
