Lets see....first I hope you feed you child more than just cereal. He is old enough to eat more than that. Also my sisters child woke up like that and she would always give him a bottle, I told her what my dr told me...they do not need to eat in the middle of the night!!! So if u do give him a bottle you may want to slowly stop. You may also want to change his bed time depending on when it is, you may be putting him down to early. You could also try the bed time bath wash it is soothing. Um...have you tried playin music. Baby einstien makes a cd w/ bedtime music on it, its nice!! If all else fails at your childs next appointment you can ask your dr. But mine told me while sleeping thru the night at that age is expected it may not be for every child!!!

My daughter is now 11 months, yet she did precisely the comparable ingredient until eventually 7 and a a million/2 months. Even now, she wakes 2-thrice a night. i'm breastfeeding, so what labored for us grow to be having my husband bypass in to convenience her between feedings. We tried controlled crying and it did no longer artwork, it certainly made it worse. She might bypass to sleep for 10 minutes, then awaken screaming back. We tried it for 3 nights and that i'll on no account do it back. i do no longer care what absolutely everyone says, it does not artwork for all toddlers, and that i do no longer think of it quite is sensible besides, and doubtlessly risky. anyhow, I were nursing her every time she wakened. finally, out of sheer exhaustion and desperation, i desperate she did no longer could desire to consume each and every a million-2 hours, so we desperate to feed her each and every 3-4 hours and my hubby might bypass in and convenience her in between feedings. It took approximately 3 weeks yet her night wakings decreased from 5-10 to 3-5, and then gradually to 2-3. Is your son teething? My daughter have been given her first tooth at 5 months, so i individually have faith (in hindsight) that teething grow to be a huge contributor to her sleep disruption. you ought to attempt cosleeping, if it quite is desirable for you. We did it some nights, it quite is the only way i ought to get any sleep. I additionally had a 2 year previous on the time (she is 3 years previous now). carry in there. i comprehend it style of sounds like an eternity and it will on no account end, even though it quite will.

Does he nap during theday? If so, I found with my son at that age i had to give him a nap in the middle of the day i.e around 12 or 1 p.m, anything closer to bedtime and he would do the same thing you describe, restless sleep and wake up.
Another thing would be to limit the length of any daytime naps. I cut his down to .5 to 1 hr, he use to sleep 1-2 hrs and that would keep him up.
One more thing, I got my son into eating oatmealbefore bed, that stuff sits in the stomach and seemd to knock em out a bit linger.....
Hope this helps.

Are you giving him a bottle when he wakes up? I'm guessing you are, since this is why most babies continue to night wake. Do not feed him when he wakes up. After 6 months of age there is no nutritional need for nightime feedings, unless advised by a doctor for medical reasons. If you stop feeding him, his tummy will be retrained and he'll stop getting up.

Around the end of the first year of life, a baby will wake in the night just to see you and to feel comforted, get a teddy or something that he/she likes and he/she will soon start comforting self.
