OK, here`s my problem. Occasionally, my PC turns off and then for some time doesn`t want to turn on. When I hit the power button ,the fan makes a single round and then everything stops. I have to try several times before the PC finally turns on. Any suggestions what the problem might be ?

The CPU is overheating which causes the computer to shut down to protect itself.

Turn off the computer and take off the outer cover.
With a can of spray air blow air on the Power supply and the CPU. CLEAN it out really well. Try blowing air inside the power supply and make sure you also clean the fan over the CPU.
When you have all the dust out, plug in the computer and turn it on, make sure the fan(s) are running, if not you need to replace the fan.

If you have access to an air compressor it can be used.

Probably power supply or possibly heat issue. CPUs have a fail-safe, when it gets to hot it will automatically shut itself down. Your best bet is to take it to a local computer guy.

Sounds like you are overheating. Check your fans and make sure they are not loaded with dust and are working properly.
