Since the legal drinking age in Greece is 16, it can't be that strict

I saw a 90 lb kid stumble down the road in Faliraki with a bottle of vodka and a straw in it. I hope that they've become stricter but like someone said earlier - they're not strict about anything in Greece - except about getting too close to vases in the museums. Then they love to yell at you "No Touch" but that's just because they're bored, not because they really care.

They have become strict on on it in the last couple of years across the Greece islands. Having seen the well published cases of misbehaving in Greece i would say its not worth risking it.

No, they aren't. Unless of course you are driving or harassing people while drunk.

However (All this is general advise you should follow, all over the world.) : if you plan on drinking be careful of where you buy drinks from (better drink bottled stuff beer etc) & also who you are drinking with (stay with friends. After a couple of drinks you might lose control. Better be protected by friends. ). Also, never leave your glass of liquer or bottle, you never know what someone might put in your drink.

Have a memorable & fun holiday!

no in greece just like in italy they dont have a drinking age. they usually will allow children to drink wine with dinner. i was stationed in italy for 3 1\2 years. they close all shops down from 1130 til 1for reposo thats their time for lunch and wine break.

no there not, none of the holiday resourts are. i have been to ios and zante and am only just 18. aslong as your not starting fights or falling around the place drunk you will be fine everywhere.make sure you stay out of trouble with the police because they will just throw you in a cell and charge you 300euro bail, that puts a downer on your holiday.

Things change, but I don't believe they are too strict - unless someone makes a fool of themselves.
