i love maddux, he is a guy who doesn't need the fanfare and the media to advance his salary in the majors. he lets his performance do the talking for him. i appreciate the players who just want to go out and play!

Clemens is a more dominant pitcher than Maddux. The fact that Maddux pitched in National League also made a lot of people discount his achievements. There is no question they are both great pitchers, but truth being fans loves Ks gave Clemens an edge.

Maddux was the best pitcher in baseball for about 5 years in the 90's, but for the rest of the past 25 years Clemens has just posted better stats

I would take Rocket over Greg Maddux anyday of the week. Greg Maddux is a fine pitcher and his place in the Hall of Fame is pretty much assured, but Rocket has more strikeouts, nastier stuff and more power than Maddux.
Right now, Rocket can still keep his ERA under 3.00. Something Greg Maddux can't do these days.

Don't know the "everyone" you're talking about but Clemens probably hold the record for getting shot in the buttocks with steroids, Bonds is a minor leaguer compared to Clemens!

Clemens used HGH. This gives him the advantage over Maddux.
