While watching the rangers hitting the cover off the ball against the yanks the other night, l noticed that none of the yankees team had any facial hair. l was wondering why? anyone know please.

It's a sign of respect, if you were payed millions of dollars by a corporation the lease you could do is look professional and represent them properly. Small staches have been allowed by more than just Mattingly. Reggie Jackson, Ron Guidry the current pitching coach has one, and even Jeff Fasano a backup catcher was allowed to have one last year.

Facial hair and unduly long hair are taboo if you play for George Steinbrenner. Remember how when Johnny Damon bolted the Red Sox for the Yankees he had to shave his beard and trim his long, unsightly locks?? Steinbrenner makes both a rule!! OR, you will not play baseball for the Yankees.

Yankee policy. Facial hair is against Steinbrenner's rules. Has been for years. There have been a few rebels that got away with it, but they are in the minority. (i.e. Don Mattingly had a mustache)
