I already have, for the most part...I've given up my sanity at times even, so at this point I've really got nothing to lose anymore....I want to be happy now...and I am still willing to wait for as long as it takes.

Why would anyone have to be willing to lose stuff in order to be happy?? How would that make any sane person happy?? Not that having tons of material possesions will make a person more happy but taking things away isn't going to either. Unless it was a burdon in their life.

I'm not sure I quite understand how that would work.
If I lost everything I have, it would just make me sadistic.
But I suppose I could get a twisted sense of happines in that.
But then again, they say 'ignorance is bliss'.
Perhaps, if I lost everything, including the memories of ever having anything (material and immaterial possesions included) ...
Then I'd have no reasons to be sad about it.
However, the absence of sadness is not happiness.

No because my family and friends are part of who I am and if it was just material possesions then yeah but not my friends and family nothing could ever replace them and with out them I know I wouldnt be truly happy

Not necessarily. If my happiness depends upon me losing everything but in the process hurts someone that I love or care about, then I would have to say no. Ultimately my happiness is contingent upon those around me. If my loved ones are happy, then I am happy. I guess what I am trying to say, I wouldn't want to be happy at the expense of others. I think that is pretty selfish.

If I were losing material things to be happy that would be fine, but losing my family and friends would make me miserable, so I guess it all depends on what someone considers happiness.

I am happy, and oddly enough, it took losing almost everything we had (materialistically) to find this joy! The most important person in my life, my precious husband, was the one part of my life I didn't lose (thank goodness)! Have a glorious weekend! Annie

It depends on what makes you happy to begin with. I've been poor as a church mouse and gleefully silly. AND, I've had more money than the Heavenly Father and was still able to find joy in simple things. I think it all depends on your own perspective.

Family, friends, dogs and cats in that. How would you be happy in completely loneliness. I think the better question would be if you had a choice to be completely happy for one year but forget about it afterward would you do it.
