The reason I'm wondering is that their criticism influence a lot of people and ends up booting a contestant that otherwise should stay longer. Case in point: Lakisha Jones. Even though her take on BeGees "Staying alive" was somewhat different, I thought it was very good and their criticism of her performance cause the boot.

I think that Lakisha's elimination was right-on this time. She has no personality - certainly not for being a star.
I do, however, wish wish wish that they would replace Paula Abdul. She always seems to be high as a kite, can't think of anything to say ("I'm speechless"), and when she does it's insipid.

Lakisha got voted off because girls think Blake is hot. You should be questioning the people's (i.e. us) ability to judge talent. It's not a singing contest, it's a popularity contest.

the judging panel is totaly worthless. Many contestants have come on, did their thing and got shot down. Many of them, with some training, could have come back at another time, and won.
But those yoyos that think their hot stuff with the holly woord rags ther wrap them selves in, het their rocks off with their torchers.

I think she deserved to go. She has had a few bad performances. She is not as good as Melinda & Jordan. If Rany/Paula and Simon had that much influence, I think Sanjaya would have been gone a long time ago.

no one listens to simon paula and randy, they cannot dictate who america votes for. and they gave blake worse reviews than they gave lakisha....lakisha was boring all her songs sound the same, and her lips kept getting in the way of her singing.
i found her particularly annoying.

People listen to what they say buit not really if you think about it. Look at Sangaya how long he stuck around and they were trying everything to get rid of him.

Yes, with Blake still there, it has become a very serious question. I think all three should be replaced.
