I remember hearing that you shouldn't give someone in hospital red and white flowers on account of it being a bad omen ..
I also remember someone telling me that there are rules regarding funerals/deaths, it was something that you should avoid putting on the coffin or a certain colour you should avoid as it will show the face of the next person to die . Or something along those lines!

Anyone shed any light??

Red and white flowers given to anyone represents 'blood and bandages'. This originated from the first World War. Anyone wanting to buy red and white flowers as a gift, should always make sure there is another coloured flower with them and this breaks the omen.

My spirit guide is a wolf and I know this for sure but I was also told that a Raven was my trump card...I wished it was an eagle or a hawk but I have been told on more than one occasion and that owls were my bad omen card..maybe cuz after a wolf finishes his dinner a raven is always there to clean up his kill..I know for sure that a wolf has been my spirit guide forever and could have died at least five times but my guide saved me..I absolutely love wolves and totally flip out the few times I have seen one in the wild and actually cry when I hear them howl...maybe they go together because they are both shape shift?

All flowers are meant to be admired, not given a category. Whoever came up with the idea for a flower for this and a flower for that, must have been a florist. Great business to be in when memorials are due.

Lilies are traditional for funerals because they signify purity and break negative influences.
Peonies were once thought appropriate for similar reasons. In gerneral certain flowers are associated with purity and others are linked to fairy magic occult purposes, etc. You would not present a flower that was linked with the later because it would be thought bad luck for the soul of the deceased and in turn his family.
