Yahoo answers. And I thought I didn't have an addictive personality, until I stumbled on this site one day.

PS I sincerely hope the contributor below me will continue to get his life back. Congrats on what you've achieved so far. (In one of the books of the Old Testament prophets, there's a promise: "I will restore the years that the locust worm has eaten.)
And now that there is an indictment against the pharmaceutical company, maybe you can sue them?

The executives at Perdue pharmacuticals were indited yesterday for putting out false reports that their drug oxycontin was not addictive. Years ago I was told by my doctor who showed me that report that I could take Oxycontin for my injuries and I would not get hooked on them according to the manufacturer. Since then, that was in 1999, they have found out that oxycontin is the most addictive substance known to man. It is more addictive than Morphine and Herion. In fact, it IS herion in synthesized form. Please everyine stay away from the drug oxycontin.....I was addicted to it for years. and it cost me everything I owned, my cars, house, job, family, reputation as a bussinessman in my community, it cost me everything. I am now in debt bankrupt, living back with my mom even though I am 39 years old and I had built my own home with my two hands by myself that was worth $250,000. Oxycontin ruined my life and my health. I have gotten off them thanks to Methadone maintenance and years of Rehab. Now I have to goto the methadone clinic everyday for the rest of my life. I had it all and threw it all away on Oxycontin....please dont use, even once recreationally, you may like it too much and you are better off not knowing. No addict down at the clinic with me everymorning planned on becoming an addict. We ALL thought the SAME thing you are thinking about occasional pain pill use. No One plans on becoming an addict....and the more sure you are of your own strength and the more certain you are that it could never happen to you, the more vulnerable you are to becoming an addict. Say this to yourself...I could become addicted very easily so I will never use Oxycontin under any circumstances. I hope they put those millionare executives in jail. So far they have only fined them 600 million dollars. But these guys were making that much in a month so its no big deal to them. They certainly got $712,000.00 of my money....everything I had worked for and accumulated my entire life...gone....because of my stupidity and thinking I wouldnt get hooked................stay away from OC's please...unless you are a jerk or a bully or a thief, then have at it, take many oxycontins and enjoy!!...hehehehe
