We have seen more ticks in the past 2 weeks than the entire 4 yrs at this house. My dog gets several a day. I have pulled 3 off of me 4 off my 3yr old and my husband has pulled more than I remember. They seem to be worse this year. Is there something I can do.

I'm thinking of hiring someone to walk around my yard and attract them all before I go out each day!
Every time I leave the house, I have a tick on me when I come back in. You are right, they are terrible this year.
I have heard that there is a granular repellent you can sprinkle on your yard, http://www.nixalite.com/fleaandtickrepellent.aspx
my friend uses it and it is excellent

I use rose geranium oil to repel ticks from me and my dog. It has worked all summer, until This Oct. The ticks are very bad this fall. Sorry to say but need a few days of freezing days to diminish them. 2015

they are bad this year for most people because of the very light winter many areas had. CT for example didnt get much snow and had 60degree days.

There are backyard foggers you can use for mosquitoes and other nastybugs but many of them cant be used if you have a pond or brook etc.

Im still looking for a safe organic way of ridding my yard of them.
