it was on full, but the gauge would move back down just a little and the gas light would come on, then it would go right back up, it did this a few times, when i got to work i just let my car run......it didnt do it anymore, only when i was stopping and going on my way to work.........will it keep doing this?

Take off your gas cap and reseat it properly, if this doesn't work and the car is a bit older then look into getting a new gas cap before major repairs.

Yeah, the little sensor in the tank that tells the gauge how much gas is left may be going bad.

My car had the same problem and i had to put it in the shop to have them fix the sensor in the tank. It was bad, so i would get it looked at or just keep your tank on full and track your milage.

Oh i guess your gas gauge is broken and it probably will keep doing this until it gets fixed.

Just a guess, but maybe the gas got so low that some air was trapped. If that's the case, I assume it'll work itself out. But then, I'm not good with cars . . .

The sending unit in your tank is going bad. It should not be too expensive to fix.
