Give me a break, This is just another Rich Celebrity getting away with the law!!! I am sick and tried of the rich and famous getting away with murder, There has to be something that can be done to those that feel there above the law, I would like to make my point across and would like to know how or who to call. Paris broke the law and she needs to going to jail just like everyone else.

You knew from the start she would pay someone off and not go to jail. As sad as it is, She IS above the law.

The legalities of what's going on is the fact that she's been 45 days to held under law until they can find an empty cell to put her in. I've read the interviews that have been given about it and I've heard on the talk on television. She released a statement to the media saying that she was willing to go ahead with her sentence because she knows that she broke the law. True, the stars think they can get away with murder, but, Paris Hilton isn't getting away with anything.

She is not above the Law. Its our system thats flawed. If it was the Brat or someone who "LOOKS" like they could have commited a crime, it would be none of this jail overcrowded mess. They would be thrown in jail, have a update about what they are doing, and then the camara in their faces when they're released. With Paris, people are trying to be sympathetic for some one who broke the law. No, she's not above the law, but a vast majority is placing her there.
Plus that user Ronnie seems very sweet, are u Paris's sister?

I read the Free Paris Petition and it just screams why she should be in jail. Just because she is rich does not mean it is ok to commit crimes and get away with them. Overcrowding, well I'm sure we can find room for her. She needs to be in jail for more then 45 days in my opinion. Free Paris, should be more like Put Paris Behind Bars. Who here would sign that petition?

oohhbother, that is just the reason people like Paris commit these crimes and get away with them. They know my lawyer will get me off or they will be tied up in court, which they don't even need to appear at and then finally it will get dropped or they will have to pay a fine or something. That is a total load of BS and that needs to STOP here and now!

Overcrowding -- that's media code for: she's either going to a minimum security prison like where Martha Stewart went or she may get house arrest. Celebrities, especially white celebrities get special treatment, even when jail is concerned. Either way, she's not going to feel the same experience as she would in a real jail. It's probably because she will not survive a real jail. Those butch women will tear her apart.

Celebrities and criminals who are famous are frequently kept separate from the rest of the jail population when it is thought that their safety cannot be assured.
Security provisions are probably what is holding up the date.

The city knows better than to create a liability with someone who has the funds to keep a lawsuit going

She's actually going to jail, it will be a shorter sentence. My question is to all her fans/supporters, what if you were in her shoes (not as a celebrity) just the same situation, do you think you would be allowed to get off as easy as she is now? What do you think your punishment would be? I totallly agree she should go to jail just like anyone else, send her to another jail.

no.. she WILL go to jail...... just like that star of LOST that only served 4 hrs of a 60 day sentence.... the length of her stay will be determined by the jail population at the time she reports to jail.... if they aint overcrowded... she'll serve a few weeks...... if they are... it can be just a few days... and as short as a few hours (see above).

Thats California LAW.. not her celeb status.
