There's been some great ideas.

My thought is, you should let her have a whole day where she gets to make wishes. And you fulfil them. I am sure she won't be demanding as she seems a wonderful lady. She might want a lie in with breakfast in bed, or dinner and movie at home. She might want to buy something nice, or for you both to have a day out.

A night at a hotel, with a meal and breakfast the next morning is another idea. You get to spend some romantic time together and don't have to lift a finger.

I hope you both have a lovely time. And a speedy recovery,
xx

How about doing as many chores for her as you can,
and cook her a great dinner and draw her a bubble bath and have scented candles burning in the bathroom to create soft light instead of using the electric light, and have soft music playing but make sure that this is all ready for when she gets home from work. so she can spend an hour by herself and just "unwind" DON"T I mean DON'T expect No! DON"T even hope for sex.

She'll appreciate that more than you spending the money she worked very hard to earn on an overpriced meal served by an obnoxious waiter.

Hi Aidanj,

Wow, it's great to hear that you still want to do something to show your appreciation even though you aren't totally well.

It's clear that your wife loves YOU and not only what you can do for her. That's why it's so easy for her to take care of you through your sickness. She love's YOU. And that's great.

It's important that you give her the "right" gift-- a gift that really reflects your feelings and appreciation.

I suggest you get a real pro involved in helping you do the right thing. I ran across a website that helps people in a lot of areas when it comes to relationships.

I'm sure they can help you too!

It's called, "When Love's Talking" www.whenlovestalking.com

Sometimes its simple things that mean so much. How about planning a special night in since money is tight at the moment. Rent a movie, cook her dinner, serve it to her, run her a nice bubble bath with candles and simply tell her how much you love and appreciate her. I am sure she would enjoy those things especially coming from you. God bless and good luck.

That is great! Seems you are very lucky to have such a caring wife! She deserves something nice, that's for sure.

If you are looking to send her somewhere alone, the spa idea is good.

If you are looking to do something together, how bout dinner, and a night away, like at a bed and breakfast...if you like that sort of thing. Or, a hotel. You can find decent places near home that don't cost a whole bunch of money.

BEST WISHES...and of course...HAVE FUN!

if it's a weekend away i suggest a log cabin in the lakes or in wales...me and my partner went last year, it was beautiful....you could go or self catering OR you can have the company do everything for you....also the prices are pretty reasonable, the scenery is wonderful, also it's very quiet and peaceful....your a good man, i am sure that what ever you do to treat her, she'll love it anyway...look up log cabins on the Internet...or centre parcs...it's nice there too....if you just want to take her for a meal, then take her to the place where she likes best...glad that your recovering well....

You don't have to go very far or spend a lot of money.

Just pack a lovely picnic with all her favourite foods and drinks (purchase, make and pack picnic yourself!) and take her somewhere that she enjoys being -i.e riverside, forest, beach.

Tell her how much you appreciate everything that she has done for you and just enjoy the day in each others company.

Hi,
Hope you are feeling better.I have also been taking care of my husband who is ill with cancer for 5 years now and i would love to get a break also but financialy it is impossible right now but my husband always lets me know how much he appreciates me in a lot of different ways. He always says thank you for anything i do for him, he goes out and buys me a card just to say he loves me and how much he appreciates me, buys me flowers on occasion and if he's up to it he will fix dinner for me. You know these little things mean so much, just to let me know he does love and appreciate me is enough.
Just do the small things now and when things get better you can give her a nice little vacation. She will appreciate it.

Why not arrange a nice meal at home? and while your preparing the meal send her to the a bathroom for a nice soak in sented bath with candles and soft music. It may sound corny but, I would love it my hubby did it for me. It's the little details that count.
