The U.S. hasn't obtained perfection why should we expect Iraq to be perfect? Maybe we should look at this from a sober historical point in light of a human error perspective instead of a ideological misconception. If you look at all the major world powers throughout there has always been someone or a group stirring up trouble. Why should this time be any different. Perhaps it's a sad fact of life that simply has to be dealt with... Perhaps solipsism needs to be discarded from both sides.

Perfection is impossible to obtain in just about any arena. The US isn't perfect, so it's hard to expect Iraq to be also.

Its unreasonable to expect perfection in just about anything in life, but when it comes to Iraq and Afghanistan the Bush administration is seriously falling short of acceptable performance. They attacked viciously and with no real plan for battle. Now they are being told that they must have a plan and if they don't there will be no more "blank checks" out there and the military will be forced to come home! History has shown that there is always troublemakers in the international community. By the way, the thinking of an international community is a pretty new concept - they used to be aliens! What we have is GWB on a killing spree and he doesn't care who he kills or what he destroys in the name of oil/money/big business. GWB is out of control and we allowed this? What's wrong with this picture???

The President's plan is to lower our expectations for a good result in Iraq. He's recently said there will always be suicide bombers and car bombers in Iraq, and there will always be some sectarian strife. One way to achieve success is to redefine it!

But this begs the question of whether we should have US soldiers dying for such a cause, and conveniently obscures the fact that there were no bombings under Saddam and sectarian strife was controlled by his mostly secular police state. In other words, it was a stable sovereign country.

Whether the US pulls its troops now or two years from now, both Democrats and Republicans agree that there will be a bloody civil war in Iraq. Neither side will be fooled that our invasion was a success.

It is unreasonable to expect perfection anywhere. Th U.S. was barely 100 years old when a huge, and very bloody civil war broke out. There are many differences between people everywhere and sometimes these spark conflict and even civil war. We cannot keep peace worldwide.

No one will actually WIN [as far as winning be no more violence in Iraq] that isn't possible, we have violence here, but i think it can be to where the government can have control putting criminals in jail, punish people who harbor terrorists. Women being able to have rights, etc.

[OH and where are the Feminists on that issue, are they scared to go over there and protest for rights now, what happened to being equal, i mean the US MILITARY MEN are doing it.]

There will never be perfection in Iraq.
Not even if and when we ever leave.

Nothing is perfect.
