whats the oldest a 16 year old can date in florida? and isnt the legal age 18?

There are absolutely no laws that regulate DATING age. Laws are concerned with age of consent to have sex and/or to marry. There very well may be a huge difference (in spite of cynical views to the contrary!). Ages of consent to have sex and to marry can and do vary considerably by state. I don't quite understand your question because it appears you've answered it yourself. The legal age of consent is 18, anything below that is a minor.

As for dating, I think that is a parental decision.

For anything else, it is against the law for an adult to have sexual contact with a minor child. You are a minor child until you have reached your 18th birthday.
