Good answer andre but WoW is boring now, been there, done that, got the lvl cap, got all the epic items etc.

it's hard to say "latest" in the same sentence as "greatest" since there are only 4 [half decent] RPGs that were made after 1995
if you're looking for a decent rpg, i would suggest adding in the specific systems in your additional details (hover the mouse over the pencil and add details)
anyway, sorta recent rpgs that are good are dragonquest VIII on ps2, and mario: partners in time for the DS, and there's a new seiken densetsu game coming out may 22 for ps2 [http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=B281691A ]

World of Warcraft will keep you busy, since it's a "live" game it is always changing so there is always something new to do even if you get to maixim level. but thats just for the computer for xbox 360 theres oblivion. for DS theres Animal Crossing

Obilvian was one of the best games of E3 and of the Xbox 360. Its one of the longest games I have ever play and was very cool.
If your looking for a PC RPG get World of Warcarft, but please don't play Runescape!

.hack gu series on the ps2, elderscrolls pc and 360, atlier iris series ps2, FF3 DS.
Coming some u got Fable 2, overlord, too human, mass effect all on the 360.

xbox360: Elder Scrolls Oblivion
these are all great games in their own right, you should at lest play one of these games
