I wouldn't be surprised at anything Condisleeza promised Syria. Thank goodness Pelosi went first and got some good communication between Syria and the US started.

Just how do you think Condlezza Rice could promise the Syrians something she does not possess?

I think Israel would have something to say about that.

And the Syrians can only help the situation by tightening up their borders with Iraq

Sounds like a healthy dose of paranoia there. Having said that I'm pretty sure Rice isn't in a position to offer that is she?

Israel might like to consider giving it back at some point though, if it's interested in freaky concepts like peace.
