Need Mother's Day ideas for church.?

Every year we recognize a few mothers at church on Mother's Day and I would like some ideas that aren't the traditional oldest mother, youngest mother, mother with the most kids, etc. Any ideas that would be different but still tasteful?

How about...

1. All the mother's who have sons or daughters serving in the military.

2. Any mother who has an "angel" in heaven. (we thought hard about doing this one as not to offend anyone. It turned out to be the greatest one. The mother who received the plant, placed it on her child's grave. She said it was the best gift she could have received. Once again, you might want to think about this one twice.)

3. Mother with the most toys in her front yard.

4. Mother with the youngest child...(newest mother).

5. Step-mothers

6. Mother with the most mini-vans :)

7. (we throw this one at the end so all the mother's stand up and get a flower): Mother with either the most stubborn husband, gorgeous kids, frazzled look in the morning...etc :)

We also do this at our church and every mother in the church gets a small flower planted in a dixie cup. Then when we recognize the specific mothers, each of them get a carnation, or plant, or something of that sort. This is one of my favorite things we do throughout the year.

Mother with the most boys, and the most girls, mother with the most adopted children, mother who does the most volunteer work, mother who is shortest and tallest. But remember you will disappoint the oldest, youngest, and most kids mothers.

Write down a mini scavenger hunt for Moms to play.I done it once for Womens ministry meeting.Like a mom with a map in her purse,red shoes on,blue purse,red ink pen,and so on.Write them now and watch who wins.Only win once.Make a long list of funny things.We also quote verses and see which one can find,stand,and read it the fastest---fun for Moms that know the Bible.May I suggest that you give carnation corsages they are so nice and cheap,recognize every female and make their day,you know how many sisters are in your Church.Happy Mothers Day .....................
