What would be the benefits and consequences of having the federal government in charge of education rather than the states???

Answer: Generations have Proven beyond the shadow of a doubt...As federal involvement increases, test scores plummet by the same or an accelerate rate.
Taken to the ultimate conclusion of the federal controlling every aspect of education...Those publicly educated will be drone slaves to those that were either home schooled or privately educated will rule the world.

The benefits would be enormous for ppl with children who transfer between states due to employment, as the edu standards would all come under one annex. The children will then know that they can go to any school in Aus and not fall behind, or be put into a higher level of class that they are not ready for!!

There would be none. Federal monies just get wasted when the federal government is in control. This would create a larger federal government and that alone would waste good money.

It would be more screwed up than it is. We should totally eliminate the US Department of Education. Millions are spent on this agency, and not one employee is teaching anyone anything. To be efficient, our tax money should go as directly to educators as possible.
