Maybe because it makes them feel more comfortable about what they believe if they group and lessen what others believe.

There is a general principle that 90% of everything is crud. That applies almost everywhere. I have found that here as in any forum you get a few thoughtful answers separated by a number of people who make childish statements. You just have to go through the chaff to find the grain. Overall, however, I have found this to be a great site. Many of the people who are here on a regular basis are both kind and thoughtful.

For one thing, It looks like your only question of record is "What happened for seven and one half hours at an Old Firm Match"... How is this a "question about government"?
That being said, people who use Yahoo a lot... admittedly because we are bored and lack the ability to do much else than drool on our keyboards and eat Twinkies.. see so many stupid questions, that we get a bit jaded... "stupid questions get stupid answers" seems to be the collective motto.
Aside from that, so many people are judgemental. Personally, I am about as bad as everyone else except I try to no longer answer anything but intelligent questions... which means I have to cull through about 200 questions for each question I answer.
I am one of those ex-level 7's who got busted and lost their 30,000 point accounts, so I now longer go for every point I can get... I just honestly try to answer questions that require an honest answer... and ignore the rest.

WEEELLLL, I don't know about everyone else but I am a lazy, opinionated yet well paid, intelligent "bully.' At least that's what I was called yesterday morning. A new badge to wear. Quit whinning and get back in the fight.

I think that many people who use this site are people who are of decent intelligence, but perhaps low to moderate self-esteem and value.
Humans have a tendency, in my experience, to belittle others in order to raise themselves higher, whether consciously or subconsciously.
Anyone who rates your self-worth or your quality as an individual on this site is someone that you should not listen to.

No one ever makes sweeping generalizations. Everyone always makes specific responses to every question all the time. Only the stupid people always say never, and always the smart people never say sometimes, but each and every time the mediocre people always never say usually.
Your question itself uses many generalizations to criticize people who use generalizations. That is always wrong. To use generalizations.

people make sweeping generalization s EVERYWHERE...it is simply part of human nature i'm afraid...digging for truth and facts and then combining those into a reasonable conclusion is just way too much effort for most people...they would rather be spoon fed what to think and say...this trait is particularly prevalent in democrats...
