To that first poster, They need pitching? Really? Do you even follow baseball? Sabathia is only one of the top 5 pitchers in the AL maybe the league and getting better, Carmona has been as good as they thought he might be last year (sub 3.00 ERA), Byrd seems to be over his awful last year, and thought he won't keep his ERA under 3, he will keep them in the game and their offense is so potent he will rack up wins. Cliff Lee is back and won 14,18,14 games his last three years. Westbrook is on the DL and hasn't pitched well so far, but will end up with an ERA in the upper 3's or low 4's and will win about 15. Sower's has been awful, but is too good to stay that way, and only can get better. There's six solid starters and they have a top prospect, Adam Miller, waiting for a chance. The Indians pitching is good and so deep they are the envy of many major league teams. Last year their bullpen kept them from having a decent record, and they've improved that by getting Borowski, who can finish a game. The reason they are going to finsish in first this year is because their pitching. They've always had the offense.

Indians will be back and will win the Division in 2007. Zumaya's set back could be a huge factor in the outcome of the division. Also can Kenny Rodgers really have another season like he did last year at his age? The White Sox offense has been down so far AJ is batting 3rd, so you know something in the lineup is wrong, but they have the edge in the dugout with Guillen so you cant count them out. Johan Santana has loss 2 home starts already this season, so that could be a good sign for the indians as well.
If we.(ohio native)...sorry the Indians can get a guy to hit second in the lineup, we could be real dangerous come October.
GO CAVS!

To the idiot who said that the Indians have great pitching - no they don't. They are not the staff teams envy. Look at last year - how did that pitching staff work out for ya? Both Detroit and Chicago have better pitching.
Indians will compete, but it is too early to know who will win the Central.

Yes we will get back to first. We have always struggled on the leftcoast. Once we get back east and back in out division things will start looking better. One thing they do need to do is get Blake out of the 2 spot. I can understand playing him at third, but what is the deal with forcing him into the top of the lineup. Hit him 8th or 9th and leave it alone.

Yes, I think they can. Right now, I am concerned with Jeremy Sowers because he has given up 8 runs in each of his last two starts. He needs to learn how to become the dominant pitcher that he was last year. It looks like Travis Hafner is beginning to snap out of his funk and will become the dangerous hitter that pitchers fear once again. He was 2-4 yesterday afternoon versus the Angels.

They will get back in first but by seasons end will have to settle for wild card because the Sox will win the division.

Nope, Detroit is going to take the central this year, thats if we can get through this brutal month...Red Sox, Cardinals, Indians twice, Angels and Twins. If Detroit can survive all that then they will be in real good shape!
