No need to adapt our bodies, we can just change our surroundings, by building warmer houses, putting on clothes etc. Our bodies do not adapt. Those of us who are more suited to the new environment will survive and pass on these suitabilities to our offspring. Those who are not suited, will not survive.
Simple, really.

That depends on how fast the weather changes. (This next paragraph is answering your question from the purely biological point of view, since you are asking that question here in the Biology forum.)
Evolution (including adaptation) takes time. If the environment changes faster than an organism can adapt to it, population declines, and possibly extinction can occur. Extinction is not likely in the case of humans because we have technology that will ensure survivors, but rapid climate change could cause a *lot* of deaths. Keep in mind that it's not just about whether the body can adapt to hotter or colder weather ... it's about where the food comes from. The body can tolerate a few degrees warmer or colder ... but if it wipes out your food sources, then you've got a bigger problem.
Or (if this is a veiled question about global warming), there are other consequences of a rise of even a few degrees. The melting of the polar ice caps can raise ocean levels by several inches, which would cause increased flooding in coastal cities. Warming of the oceans increases the frequency and intensity of hurricanes. So what the body can adapt to would be the *least* of our worries.

Nope, our adaptation is much more mental now-we didnt adapt to the last ice age physically, but with new innovations.

your body can adapt to different situations short term, e.g. temperature and humidity changes, but once you get to a certian temperature range the body can no longer cope and basically cells start to die, becuase of the heat and the hypothalamus's inability to cope.
Long term evloution takes a fair time to kick in! Think we will have to evoulve to servive the climate change, but don't think we are going to be able to do it in time!!!

Sure, but what about the billion people who die of starvation because plants couldnt adapt fast enough, or from floods because they lived in low lieing regions like florida or texas?

Beeg Jaun... Only a billion?
I think it will take a lot of time for us to adapt...
But lets face it, if we all die...
The human race had it coming.

The discomfort centers could be adjustable. incredibly some medical therapy is discomfort administration/anesthesia. as quickly as the guy knows the reason, the discomfort serves no purpose...they could desire to be waiting to coach it down or off. Now: "Ow, i've got been shot. Ow ow ow ow." My suited: "Ow, i've got been shot. enable me close off the discomfort middle for the wound section...there, now i will get this regarded at."
