They usually have various symbols and stuff in them that can be interpreted in various ways - most of the time its just personal anxieties and fears being realised. It's never a good thing to take them too literally. If you are having bad dreams about people you care about - it doesn't mean that bad things will happen to them, it just shows that you care about them and that you would do anything to protect them.

I believe that our dreams come from experiences we have had during the day or week or month. Dreams, I believe, are born in from our subconscious. The events that occur that may upset us and we put them aside or the problems we have that we don't want to address. Our worries or even our joys may come to the front in our dreams. We escape in our dreams and do things we could never do in reality. Sometimes we have repetitive dreams and until we can find a solution to our problems these dreams will keep recurring, when the problem is resolved then the dream will be no more. If you are having a repetitive nightmares the best way to stop them is to think about it before you fall asleep and you won't experience it that night. Nightmares are your fears that you push to the back of your mind.

Dreams do mean something, but what?

Most of what we dream is junk being tipped out of one part of the brain into another. This usually happens during rem-sleep and is accompanied by rapid eye movement.

Dream sequences seem to occur immediately after falling asleep and immediately prior to waking up. At least, these seem to be the dreams we are most aware of.

Falling in a dream. Could this be the result of falling out of bed?

What of sleep walkers? Are they dreaming as they walk?

I spent years as a youngster trying to work out what my dreams mean but i have now come to the conclusion that they are a mixture of recent events and the loopy stuff that goes on in our mind sometimes. I do feel that being in a anxious state can make them seen more vivid and troubled though.

They mean nothing. Unless you are claiming that either you're psychic and can see the future or that god is talking to you, I don't see how dreams can be anything other than your brain going over old events and filing them away.

Dreams are just the subconscious manifestations of our needs, wants and desires. Nightmares are just the manifestations of our fears.
