I think that pale people who can't tan should accept it and stop looking like orange freaks! I'm lucky as I have olive skin xx

I for one am pale as a bog spirit and never do tan, only burn. But I do see the point of your question.

I think many white people would not choose the hardship that goes along with being a black minority in a white world - and by that I mean most of the West. You do not have a choice in the matter and are often judged by skin colour - albeit on a subconcious level - something you can do naught about.

Tan, however, is often associated with the wealthy and leisured classes - for who else does have the time to lounge about on beaches and tennis courts to cultivate one? Interesting note - it used to be the opposite. People with tans were the labourers - bricklayers, fishermen etc.- so then it was pale skin that was considered 'desirable' - as only the wealthy could sit about and do no physical work. Hmmm, some things never do change!

That simple...the grass is greener on the other side. We all want to be something else, something better. Blacks are cool, talented, exotic THAT all the good stuff BUT no one wants the BAD stuff too.

Personally, I am black but I like to be a little tanned because I never want to be a glow in the dark Pale color because I look better tan.

Also I have experience the other side of all that...Blacks have told me I am not black enough (in color or actions). Racial pride is great but when it boils down to it "WE ARE ALL JUST HUMAN."
If you stick us we all bled red blood.

Well, not EVERY ONE is like that, but for the people that are, its because they are not satisfied in their own skin.... You are your own worst critic and what you think is better is what you want... I mean hey i my skin gets real real dark almost black, I'm like WOOHOO (i have olive skin) but i'm naturally lite skinned, i'm satisfied with how i look but i also enjoy looking different and kicking things up a notch now and then... I mean i have a friend who is pakistani and she says that its funny how people tan over here and over there they use skin cream bleach so that they could be lighter.. YOU SEE, people are never satisfied with themself and strive to seek something that they feel is "better".

I think it's because...from my experience, some black communities are racist and threatern the white. They dis them completely. I myself am not racist but thats just what i have experienced.
And the same when it comes to white people dissing the black people.
Society is confusing....(thinking) hmmm
I guess tan is just inbetween so there is no way anyone can say you are black or white...there for you will stay out of the warfare.

well, to black skin you cant apply make up andn if you do it even if you do it wouldent look nice and white skin it doesnt go with all colours but tan blends with most so most prefer tan but i'm olive skined and i would have been happy with any skin colour.
