A riding mower does just that, it mows only, unless of course you have a bagger then it is a 2 function machine.
A lawn tractor can do as many things as they make attachment for. It has more horse power and sometimes a little larger. You can use a front blade, plow, some attach tillers, a multitude of uses.
I WOULD RATHER HAVE A LAWN TRACTOR.

A riding mower is generally a single use machine whereas with a lawn tractor the mower is actually an attachment and they will accept other attachments as well such as a snow plow, snow blower or tilling attachment.
