You need to start on the slimmest type you can. Try the ones without the applicator - you have more control over where it goes, and can feel where it's going too.

Wait until your period is heavier rather than on the lighter days as the tampon will be easier to insert then. Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to find the right size for you and go from there.

You'll get the hang of it eventually - keep trying!

Even at 52, I find it difficult to insert them on occasion. I have found, once I start insertion, if I pull in and up on my "belly" muscles, things will "open up" for me. Just RELAX. That is the biggest word to remember... RELAX ! Also, a little Vaseline on the tip of the applicator might help a bit. You sound very young. You might want to wait a year or two. I was 18, and, one month from marriage, when I started using them. Had never had sex. Nothing had ever been "there". It was difficult for me to get use to.

I would recommend trying Ob tampons. The thing I liked about them when I was using tampons is that I didn't have to worry about cardboard applicators like I did with other brands. For pads if you find you must use one I would recommend Always because of the special flaps that go around the outer part of your panties. These special flaps help hold the pad in place so that it doesn't twist.

I no longer use tampons due to medical reasons unrelated to the tampon itself.

relax your vaginal muscles and see if it will go in then...

if you never had any sexual contact it may be a reason why it wount go in, but if you have, then maybe you are just tense?

and make sure you press it in the right way, you should slant the applicator slightly to the back(small of your back) wen inserting it.

it should go in then...?

Use some other brand with no applicator.
I hate the applicator, never use it.
