at my old house, in central ky, there was a vine growing like wild in my yard. the blooms were five petaled, white, and very fragrant. very much like jasmine. it was climbing in trees and along fences. (wish i had taken a start when i moved). does anyone know what this may have been, as i would love to have some more.

You have described Tracelospermum jasminoides. White, very fragrant jasmine-like blooms. An evergreen twiner with spear shaped glossy green leaves. Loves a warm sheltered wall, fragrance from heaven.

more then likely it was jasmine, it could have been pink honey suckle, did the blooms curl, if so it would be corkscrew vine. Do a google search of various vines in images and see if your vine pops up. Good luck!

it may have been moonflower, blooms open in the evening and last til noon of the next day, flowers are 6" across and the vine grows to 15' in height
