In most jurisdictions, you have violated the local health codes -- which means that you have broken the law.
If they did not fire you, then the health inspector can potentially shut down the entire restaurant indefinitely.
Failing to wash your hand before handling food can (and has in the past) made hundreds of people sick, and has resulted in a large number of lawsuits.
You boss HAS to fire you. He has no other choice.

That is absolutely disgusting!! He should have 'sacked' you sooner. How would you like it if someone prepared food for you with germ infested hands?!?!?!?... K maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but come on, its common sense to wash your hands after you visit the loo and you should especially be doing so, seeing as you're a chef!

As a chef that would count as gross misconduct so yes, he had every right to sack you as you put people's lives at risk, not only with your germs but from anything you may have picked up while in the loo, personally I would have kicked you out the kitchen the first time. How vile are you?

regardless of if the germs do killed off by ability of the warmth, there continues to be a wager that lots of the germs in no way have been given killed and you're passing those germs that have been as quickly as on your hand onto people who're going to consume your nutrition and you gets them ill. in case you get that individual ill, then there may be a wager that the well-being inspection branch might are available in and close the eating place via this blunders.

Yes he definitely can,
he is your boss after all,so its his call
Now,if he's thorough about food handling and
if he wants A grade food then you dont have
a reason to blame him..
I find it quite fascinating since he let you off like that
Shows his strong principle which is safety first,
hopefully you'll learn from this mistake and
avoid committing the same mistake over again

You must be real dumb *** to not practise this basic form of cleanliness.
You work(ed) in the food business and through your lazyness could contaminate the food being prepared, cause people to get sick, your boss to lose his livelihood, and your fellow workers to lose their jobs.
And now you want to sue him!!!
What a lowlife.

Hardly the worst offense in the world???? In the food business, there is nothing worse than someone who fails to wash their hands...this is the leading cause of food poisoning!!!! I would suggest that if you tried to sue, you'd lose huge...
