In memory of and respect for the Honorary VP and his son who were tragically killed in a helicopter crash returning from Chelsea's CL match and I think also for a former Chelsea player, but I did not catch who.

It wasn't Bally, it was an official of the club and his son, died in a helecopter crash returning from the liverpool game. a family friend and the pilot also died. Didn't catch the name.
Are some people suggesting chelsea would pay respects to a national hero like A B, but united wouldn't???

In memory of Alan Ball, one of Britains greatest footballers, before the game was ruined by players getting big money for doing nothing.

the real reason is for the chelsea chairman that died in the helicopter crash on the way back from the liverpool match. bless him. they have already payed their respects to alan ball.
