Iran justifies their desire for nukes by claiming they are for energy once the oil runs out.
Our govt, which claims to have the answer for everything has been talking about alternative enrgy sources, cutting dependence on foreign oil for years, but nothing ever gets done.
Going strictly by this, does it look like Iran has a more enlightened leaership than we do.?
Bear in mind the days are long over, and have been, since you could poke a hole in the ground in Oklahoma and find more oil than you knew what to do with , and the Arab Oil embargoes were long before Bush and Clinton were in office.

I see that they've been successful at diverting your attention away from the fact that they're developing nuclear bombs . I truly do hope you research more on the topic .

Iran has a bounty of energy. In 2009, a major natural gas pipeline from Iran will pass through and supply Pakistan as it continues on to India; helping to fuel that country's booming economy.
There are many types of nuclear power generators. The older ones were designed to produce spent fuel that was converted into nuclear bombs. The half life of the waste was 100,000 years. On the other end of the scale there are plans for low grade nuclear power plants whose waste would have a half life of 500 years and from which the spent fuel would be worthless in weaponry. Iran is pursuing development of the former. Couple that with it's stated aim of wiping "the Zionist state" off the map and it suggests a tragedy in the making. The youth of Iran are, well, "normal" young people as are the young of Israel. I pray for them both.
The U.S.A. is developing a phlanx of alternate energy sources, led by Sacramento. Some 25% of it's corn is presently converted to ethanol. To meet federal law of 11%(?) of fuel needs from ethanol by 2015, the entire corn and soybean crop still would not be quite enough. The awakening came at 9/11 and will never cease. But it will take time and many energy sources to "come clean";i.e. there is a plant in Missouri making diesel from turkey offal, the U.S.M.C. has for years used biodiesel for it's domestic use, etc.. Watch for Switch Grass. This tall native American grass makes more ethanol per acre than corn and absorbs a lot of carbon dioxide.

So we could stand up to the Soviets that had 40,000 nuclear weapons but yet we freak out day and night about third world countries that could possibly have a nuke in 10 years?

Give me a break...where is Americas backbone?

Iran want this nuclear energy that they do not use their oil for domestic use like electricity and other things ----which is subsidized to their citizens for cheap price-----instead they want to sell the oil for high price instead of wasting it on local use
