i can't believe the shortsighted, ignorant, racists answers i'm receiving on this. lala land obviously does exist for some. how many times has iran moved against iraq in the past? when you guys say that you don't care about the government evolving within iraq, you are saying that it is okay with you if the fascist regime in iran is broaden across borders. where do you get off maintaining that it is okay for our greatest enemy to gain even more power, more resources and control over more people, their upbringing and ideology? this is why it is so important for the republicans to maintain control of the whitehouse because you democrats have no concept of what is at stake here.

There's not one iota of doubt in my mind that Iran would take Iraq. . . . . and then Saudi Arabia. .. . and so on. . . and so on. . .and so on !!
EDIT*- After reading some of the responses, I am reminded of how terrorists pose as Americans on the internet to confuse and divide . I'm also reminded that their answers are both hilarious and scary . Who in their right mind would think that the whole world would unite against them ? The whole world had the chance to unite over Iraq. .. based upon ALL intelligence AT THE TIME, nearly every country agreed that Iraq had WMD's, but only a few were willing to fight them over it !!

No. I don't. I think we completely underestimate Iran. Or for that matter have been mislead to some certain degree. I'm going to tell you right now i supported that war in the beginning, but i know now that we have been seriously misled. For quite a long time now. There's a way to bring about a peaceful solution for both Iraq and Iran, but most that are following blindly will not like the answer. Thats ok though, i think its going to really rear its ugly head upon us soon enough anyways. Then we'll be left with no options.

I'm with you 100% on this one. The libs don't realize, or want to see, what a true terrorist threat Iran really is. They are the #1 state sponsor of terrorism in the entire world.
If you noticed in the news today, Hezbollah has begun basing their terrorists in South America. I would bet my boots that Hugo Chavez is providing them what they need. And their target? The USA. It's just a matter of time.
If anyone thinks Iran wouldn't take advantage of a US pullout of Iraq, they're living on another planet. This country had better wise up, because this threat will be on our soil, again.
Good post! And thanks for bringing up such an important issue!

if the current leaders of so called Iraq government retain the power, answer is YES, during the Saddam presidency they have lived and trained in Iran and are continuously obeying Iranians authorities. However if Iraqis solve their own issues and try to establish a real government chosen by their own people, it's very doubtful they be so dependent on foreign counties such as USA or IRAN.

Your article says that the hire accumulated became into $4.5 million and that the money became into helping to help various Shiah mosques and colleges. So there is in all hazard no longer plenty left from that money to finance Iranian nuclear events, which could fee 1000's of hundreds of thousands. So that's in all hazard consistent with tension from Jewish lobbies, American business enterprise Institute in specific, wanting to wreck an an Iranian supported charity.

Many of Iraq's mullah's were trained in Iran yet Iran supplies Sunnis with weapons. Iran probably intends to seize control of Iraq whether or not we leave. One of the probable reasons that Iran wants to develop nuclear weapons is so that when it does take over Iraq, no country will oppose it.

Iraq's Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi, says that Iran has "a deep and exceptional influence" in his country's affairs, something he wants to see much reduced.

Iran's influence permeates political and daily life in Iraq, especially in the South where close family, religious, and cultural ties have been the norm for centuries.

it won't matter when we leave, i fear, as iran is probably just waiting...very patiently waiting
something for you all to think about: rome was not built in a day. it has been ions that iraq has been used to blood shed and it's going to take a long time for these people to get it together. most of their young people grew up seeing death and with that mentality...being widespread...and tempers easily set to fight mode, i can see it taking a long time for their country to calm down.
heck, we still haven't fixed New Orleans...and it's been a long time yet it looks the same. how fast do you think they can recover? be honest. know i don't want to be fighting over there one more damn minute, but it's gonna take time, people. thiunk what we're expecting and what we're expecting it of

I can think of one reason why they would not. They'd run into the same problems the US has had. While its true that chaos in Iraq could have been avoided had the US made certain intelligent decisions after Saddam was removed from power, now that Iraq is in chaos, no nation will be bringing order there until the Sunnis and the Shiites are tired of killing each other.

Yes I think they would try. Saudi Arabia has suggested they would enter Iraq if we leave however, perhaps leading to a Saudi-Iran conflict in the future.
