cant v live without religion? cant v be together without any barriers? cant v follow the teachings of great philosophers and thinkers considering them as our great teachers rather than making them gods and creating a religion out of it.

As a Christian my faith is pretty strong.
The Bible doesn't tell you to be a vegetarian. Thou shalt not eat meat is not one of the commandments. In the old testament, people sacrificed lambs to God. Jesus was later referred to as the lamb of God sacrificed for us. In the story of the Prodigal Son, the father mentions "killing the fatted calf" to celebrate when the son returns home. Nowhere is it mentioned that eating meat or killing animals is evil. At least not that I know of.
Being a vegetarian is a life choice. Perhaps in some cultures & religions being a carnivore is considered evil but not in Christianity as far as I know. Many animals are carnivores & they certainly aren't evil, they just act on instinct. Some are carnivores & some are herbivores.
You could argue that it is morally wrong to eat animals since you could eat vegetables & spare the animals. But the reality is that if they weren't a food source, farmers wouldn't bother to raise pigs, cows & chickens & they would cease to exist. They don't live in the wild. So you wouldn't be saving their lives by boycotting them. I think that eating what I consider companion animals or wild animals is wrong (pets, horses etc) because they are not bred as a food source. You could argue that it is unhealthy to eat meat, especially red meat is hard to digest.
Personally I love animals & I think that we have to respect all creatures. But I don't think everyone who ever ate a hamburger is going to Hell or there would be no room for the Mansons & Hitlers who were responsible for killing people, not animals. Which is worse. God made us in his image & placed us above all other creatures on earth. All life must be respected but people most of all.

dude... first of all it's CHRISTIANS not cristians...and second... according to the bible... the people before were vegetarians then during drought some of them asked God if they could have animals as food,,, God said as long as they will be cooked until there is no blood left it will be okay for them..and f.y.i... i don't approve of killing... i didn't even allow our class to have frog dissection... (yes a rebellion from a straight a student)... my point is even if people kill animals for food and clothing it's just natural for us to use our resources to survive... but i would like to say killing for recreation is so wrong!!

Faith does not come in varying degrees . You either have Faith or you don't .And Faith has nothing to do with what you eat.
