This show is amazing!!! That being said, I am so "Lost" as to who or what Jacob may be. I am curious to see what others say to this.

Very good episode, but still left us hangin. This is the beginning of of a new set of backflashes. A lot of ppl that loved last weeks episode might not realize this, but the writers have been tying up loose ends. Last week was the end of Locke and Sawyer flashbacks, since thier demons were "cleansed" so to speak. I saw the figure in the chair, and tried to freeze that frame but it left no clue. I still think Jacob is a Psyche that needs a body and Walt was not fit, that's why the others are still interested in Sun, and in little Aaron. Oh but I did like how Daniel and Tom didn't lift a finger to stop Locke form saving Mikhail from a beating. haha!

hiphop, little Ben met Alpert in the jungle, NOT Jacob. If you clean that guy little Ben met by shaving the beard and cutting the hair, its Alpert. Even the voice is Alpert.
Which asks the question how can it look like Alpert hasn't aged a day while Ben grew up to the age he is today?
I think Jacob is either a ghost, or a person on another plane of existence. Freaky episode!!!

I still say Jacob is dead (he was real, that's who Ben met in the jungle), but that his "spirit" is manifesting in some way, perhaps a poltergeist. If that isn't the case, I believe Ben's mind has conjured him up as a way to maintain control over the Others that are left. At least now I know why he knew so much about the Dharma Initiative. But the way he killed his father was just so cold and heartless. Daddy may not have been a good guy, but why not just run away? That's what most kids do.

Gosh was that weird or what?! I'm not sure if Jacob is the spirit of the island or a strange thing with Ben. Anyway, it sure makes things interesting on the island. Wonder how long it will take Jack and company to realise John is missing?

That's a tough one. I'm sure it has something to do with the reality of the island. Things are not always what they seem on this place.
Part of me wants to believe he's real, and part of me wants to think it's like HAL from 2001: Space Odyssey.......still not sure, but supposedly the truth will be revealed over the next couple of seasons. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
