A song I like by Neil Young is Like A Hurricane. Not sure if that would fit your particular situation, but that's the one that comes to mind.

I really like Kasabian's British Legion. It is a lot different from their usual rock and roll songs; this one's slow and sounds lullaby-ish. Travis's Closer is not bad either. It's got that bittersweet feeling when you listen to it. If you haven't heard either, check it out. You can probably try altering the lyrics a little if you want, to sing it to your special someone.
Anyway, i don't think there's a 100% perfect song for love. Just sing it sincerely; she'll see that and she'll love it. Good luck.

I don't know the original singer, but that song with the lyrics -
"You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off of you."
It was featured in a Mel Gibson/Julia Roberts movie. Quite lovely.

'"Til There Was You" from the musical "The Music Man" is excellent. It was also covered by the Beatles and is on their first Anthology record.
"Unchained Melody" is awesome if you have the pipes for it. "Just an Old-Fashioned Love Song " by Three dog Night is easy to sing.
