I'd like to grow a pot of stevia but would like to know if it can be grown indoors?

Indoors it wants as much sun as possible - south window. Try rooting cuttings in water.

A friend of mine grew a nice size pot of it. IIRC, it had cute little leaves, and you could eat the leaves just plain -- you didn't have to dry them. Although, of course, dried stevia would be easier to deal with I think. We live in North Country, so she had to grow it indoors. She may have taken it outdoors during the summer, though. I think you can also root cuttings and get new plants that way, so it's possible to have some outdoors during the summer, and your "safety" pot.

Plants absorb carbon dioxide for starters. Having the plants on the roof will help to shield it from direct sunlight, and that way the building will be easier to keep cool in the summer. If these are food plants (some do this,) that also helps with local produce.

Yes, it grows very easily and spreads pretty quickly, we used to grow it on the farm in the greenhouse, will not survive a freeze. I found it to have a strong aspartame taste when green, this may not be as noticible when dried, I have only tasted the green foliage.
