Have you ever regreted for what you have done to your family and for what you have not done to your family?

Hello Ashidh,

I have regretted a few choices I've made in my life insofar as my family is concerned, but I don't let those choices be anything but learning experiences for my internal growth. Allowing guilt to cause you to live in the past where nothing can be done to change it, is where guilt becomes a trap.

Look at what you've done objectively. Was the decision made for a higher purpose? Was it intended to help or hurt? Was the inaction a cause of harm to others?

If your responses to these sorts of questions indicates you feel you've done a wrongness to someone, then a sense of guilt is an indication that there is something you might need to apologize for, ask forgiveness for, and perhaps do something to atone for your mistake.

We are all human and we all make mistakes. It's how we handle them that makes all the difference.

Hope this helps.
Tara

Regret equals guilt. Take the bad situations and learn from them. Change what you can, apologize for the wrongs committed and go on from there.
Yes I have regrets, but only that the action was committed in the first place. If I have honestly tried to make it better if possible then I try to make peace with the past. If nothing else, learn from the situation and don't make the mistake again.
Hopefully, if it is your family you have wronged, they will have love left for you even if they don't like your behavior. Or you can learn to forgive yourself for what cannot be changed.

Good luck to you!

i don't believe regret equals guilt.
secondly i don't believe people when they say they have no regrets in life, unless they are still young and haven't lived enough to have regrets!
yes, i regret things i have not done, [ie not allow my children to have pets when they were younger], and i regret things i have done [ie gone back to work when the kids were pre-teens], i don't feel guilty about either choice, at the time they seemed like the right thing to do, and i don't lose any sleep over either decision. however i would probably choose differently now than i did then.

Nope.. i dont regret nothing why sit around regreting something that you cannot change anymore when you can be changing stuff so you dont regret not doing it in the future !?!?
