Whether or not you agree with the source I posted, you have to agree that the fact the United States, the world's undisputed military leader, is using MERCENARIES in Iraq is sickening. Now add this to the fact that these MERCENARIES make more in a month than what the average U.S. SOLDIER makes in a year, and this just makes it even worse. Why do you never hear of these MERCENARIES in the news? Because if all the parents and spouses and military families knew that their servicemen and servicewomen were fighting alongside much better paid MERCENARIES from around the world with allegiance to their CEO and only their CEO, and not the U.S. Constitution, this war would be done for.

They're mostly private security guards for personnel of corporations over there and are paid by the companies that hire them. There's a lot of foreign companies over there doing business and it's prudent to hire guards to protect their personnel. Some of these guards are ex-marines and other military people who have already served in previous wars for their country and it's makes sense to employ these highly trained people. The job can be very dangerous so the pay is comparable to the risk, even the article mentions that recently five of these private guards were killed while on duty in a volatile area of Baghdad - so obviously there's a need for them. Our soldiers can't be allotted to protect every foreign employee of a corporation so let the companies pay the cost for their own security and let the ex-soldiers etc who're willing to take the job for the extra money have the chance to do so.

Get used to it pal: In the first place they've always used "Private Civilians" so, wake up and smell the roses. I was in 'Nam they used them there. Where were you?
My own grandson was in the Air Force and went a tour in Iraq, when he got out, an Electrician, he went through a private quarter and went back, not as you say, a mercenary but in the "private quarter" an Electrician, so, get your information straight. These people are working unarmed and without bodyguards, in some of the worst areas doing what the Army can't, bringing electric, water and hospitals into the civilian areas. Now, who do you think is doing all this. And, yes, they make good money. If you think your highly qualified and have a good education, apply for the job, you never know, you might be hired.
Until then, keep it down. My grandson did his share there, what did you do? Now he's back wiring the civilian neighborhoods for electric, the people have never had electric before and praise him and his men from India, and other Countries that work under fire, some have been killed (122) to help these people. Get your facts straight.

Umm, yep. specific forces will continuously have a place in any conflict, because of the fact, in all honesty, the ordinary soldier would not comprehend crap. For any challenge that is composed of asking questions earlier taking photographs, or taking photographs without getting shot, specific forces are often used. additionally, because of the fact the government can in elementary terms deliver over maximum of respected protection tension troops, there'll be weapons for hire... yet are they actually mercenaries from now on than the mall protection preserve is a mercenary? I propose he gets employed to hold a gun around too. have you ever stopped and asked your self what the government could easily stand to earnings by potential of prolonging the war in Iraq? gas expenditures are not going on plenty, scores are not going up plenty, and the financial gadget isn't improving all that nicely...
