What is the most durable material to use for a California home to withstand potentially harmful weather in the future from global warming. Cost is not an issue. But I perfer the material to be environmentally friendly. Thanks a lot.

Surely in California, the issue would be the foundation. You want something that's earthquake-proof, and away from any potential landslides or mudslides.

Insulation would be good to protect against overheating during unnatural summers. Maybe metal? Do you think hurricanes or tornados are going to be an issue? Metals good against rain and sun, and not bad regarding earthquakes.

You might take a look at Real Goods catalog to see if they address these issues. They *do* address environmentally friendly and energy-efficient issues, so I think they are a great resource for any home-builder.

when you build your house, you will call the cable company to install the cable for your TV, right? then the technician will attach a copper wire in the same place (of the cable installations) outside the house. that wire will do the work, and the storm or the lightning will not attack your house.
Good Luck.
