I've only answered a few queries today and find that my motivation is typically to help the questioner. Thinking about other people out there, people who might be my neighbor, co-worker, or the person in the car next to me, and what they might be thinking is what interests me. It's a kind of voyeurism into other people's minds, but without the icky stuff that goes along with it because it's all voluntary. If I earn a few points here and there, that's a bonus. Whether the world thinks I know a thing or two won't be decided by this forum.

1. When knowledge is given to others, the storage would increase and giver would grow.
2. Teaching others is the best way to acquire more knowledge.
3. If our answer is helpful to others, we could be more happy for having been in a creational attitude.
4. Unless we distribute to others what we have, we do not deserve anything from others.
5. As told Bernard Shaw, wise is studying and fools are teaching. This is correct, because, unless we have a forum to mingle with others and discuss on the contemporary issues, we are merely half-grown.
6. Quarter of knowledge from teachers, quarter from friends, quarter from experience and rest quarter would grow itself. This is the science of acquiring knowledge.
Best of luck

My dear friend,
Questining and answering may be compared with a swing of pendulum as if one deflection will recept another.
There may be a difference of opinion that why we put questions and answer to it. Some will say straightway - for acquiring points. Some may opine - it is a fun. At the same time some may express that they are desirous of helping others (the questioners) to their best etc. etc.
But to me, it is a bit different. Why we live? The answer is simple - to lead a life. But for that we need so many things - education, home, medical treatment etc. etc. along with earnings. Moreover we want to get love, affection, care etc.etc. Hence simply it can be said that life is polyvectoral.
Please assume the answer of your question in that way.
Thanking you and will all best wishes,
Sincerely yours,
Indranath

I do it for fun....to earn points...& to help out the person. I like to put interesting answers for fun questions & make people laugh.
♣ not only in the shade,
♣ but in the sunshine of life;
♣ and thanks to a benevolent
♣ arrangement of things,
♣ the greater part of life is sunshine.
♣ Of all the blossoms in life's garden,
♣ friendship is the most fragrant
♣ A friend is a gift where
♣ worth cannot be measured
♣ except by the heart
♣ Be full of sympathy toward each other,
♣ loving one another with tender hearts
♣ and humble minds
♣ Friendship is sharing openly,
♣ laughing often,
♣ trusting always,
♣ caring deeply
♣ We can pour our heart out to a friend
♣ knowing that gentle hands will take it,
♣ keep what is worth keeping,
♣ and with a breath of kindness,
♣ blow the rest away
♣ Thank YOU for being my friend ••••••♣

it's a mixture of all the things you listed, for points, for fun, to see if my two cents are good enough to help out the ask-er of the question, and the other... will I'm sitting at work over night, and I have to wait for a certain time to do my paper work and then when I finish it, I have nothing else to do really until 4:00 am, and plus some of these questions are great.... and some of the answers are even better!

Mainly to help the questionaire I've been through a lot and I feel that I can offer my wisdom in some areas. That's my main reason. Then there are the silly ones that I do for fun and to earn points (like this one).

99.9% of the time I respond to a question because
1.) I have a strong opinion about the subject matter
2.) I have experienced the question and wish to share my story in the hopes that it can inspire, encourage, or overall be of help
3.)it is alot easier for me to respond by writing out my response than it would be for me to be oral in a group setting.
the points mean nothing, it is when someone who has asked a question responds to you and lets you know that you did touch them in some way that is worth it all.

I answer for fun, and to help people with stuff that I just happen to know. Not to get points, cuz I don't care about points, really.
