Answer: As 12*1240 is not equal to 9*8329 they are not proportional and so you cannot put an '=' sign between these two ratios.


16. Business and finance. A store has T-shirts on sale at 2 for $5.50. At this rate, what do five T-shirts cost? Answer: it is $2.75 for each shirt. So 5 shirts cost $2.75 multiply by 5 and you get total of $13.75

For 8, when you get to 28/5 : 21/10, just divide the fractions, so that you have

28/5: 21/10 = 28/5 * 10/21 = 8:3

...which is kinda what ou have, but it's not good practice to have a fraction in a ratio if you can help it.

For 14, you could have ratios that relate dissimilar things - look at 30 - you're relating pounds and money. In this case, it's a rate. You could say that 240 lbs fertilizer: 6 lawns = 40 lbs : 1 lawn, or 40 lbs/lawn.

All of your other answers look great - I think you really showed that you know what you're talking about with your explanations of the others! Nice work!
