Me and a few guys I work with are confusing each other over what the longest win streak was for the Tigers. They just had an 8 game streak snapped tonight which equalled their best streak last year. Did the tigers ever have a longer one than that?

The Tiggers have twice won 14 in a row.

19-August to 02-September, 1909, all at home: one against Chicago, three against Washington, three against Philadelphia, three against New York, three against Boston. Played a tie in Cleveland on 9/3, so the non-losing streak reached 15 games, then lost a doubleheader to the Indians on the 4th.

31-July to 14-August, 1934: won three in Cleveland starting with the second game of a doubleheader, then home for three against Chicago, three against St. Louis, three more against Cleveland, then took a doubleheader in New York before losing to the Yankees on the 15th.

It's been a while.

Last time the Kitties had a streak as long as nine wins was 1984, when they had two, one starting on Opening Day.

Boy that's a stressful question, and at this factor continues to be way too early to tell. sure their group is on a roll now, yet they nevertheless have a lot of video games left against the two the Chi sox (sixteen!) and the indians (12), the two communities that look to project for the branch. If Detroit can split or take 4-6 extra advantageous than they lose, then sure, they'd win the branch, yet its no trouble-free highway. i do in contrast to their bullpen, that's already enormously lots overworked and Todd Jones won't stay healthful returned. that's been their potential suited now, besides the undeniable fact that it ought to destroy down by ability of August while they actually choose it. i admire their starters even with the incontrovertible fact that, bonderman and maroth and verlander are very in a position. Their offense leaves somewhat to be needed, without actual skill coming from everywhere in the lineup (aside from shelton, who's performed little in view that april). nevertheless, smallball has labored for them so some distance, and won the sox a chain, so who knows of?
