-324/729 = -4/9
sqrt = i*2/3
92/207 = 4/9
sqrt = 2/3
12.25 = 49/4
sqrt = 7/2 = 3.5

not sure where these other people went to school, but you take the square root of both the numerator and denominator.
First reduce them, so 324/729 = 4/9. so this is an easy one now. the square root of 4 is 2 and the square root of 9 is 3. so the answer is 2/3. The do have a negative sign here, so if this not a typo, then it is actually an imaginary number and the answer is 2/3 i.
the second one reduces to 4/9 also, so the answer is again 2/3.
the third one is easiest if you put it into fractional form...so it is really 49/4. and the square root of this is 7/2.
I could help with the second one, but I dont understand your notation.

Usually you should use a calculator when ever you need to get the square root of a number. The button usually has the square root sign or the text "sqrt" or something similar. All you have to do is tap in the number and press that button.
You have to understand that the square root is "what number makes the number you have when multiplied by it self?" Like 2 x 2 = 4 so the square root of 4 is 2.
If you really want to know how to calculate a square root manually here is a link that might help:
http://math.arizona.edu/~kerl/doc/square-root.html
Since when two negative numbers are multiplied the answer is a positive number eg (-2) x (-2) = 4 its not possible for real negative numbers to have square roots.
Also remember when you square root a squared unknown its the same. eg X to the power of 2, square rooted = X. But in your case since you know the values for X and Y all you have to do is replace the letters with the actual numbers and just calculate it!
Hope this helps.

OK, sqrt(a/b) is sqrt(a)/sqrt(b). For the first one, I notice that both numerator and denominator are divisible by 9, so the fraction can be simplified to -26/81. Now you just solve for sqrt(-26)/sqrt(81) which is sqrt(-26)/9. The square root of -n is sqrt(n)*i, so the answer is sqrt(26)*i/9. You can use a calculator to figure out what the square root of 26 is.
For the second one, convert a decimal to a fraction. In this case, 12.25 is 12 and 1/4, or 49/4. So you have the square root of (49/4) or sqrt(49)/sqrt(4), or 7/2.
If I understand the last one correctly, it's
sqrt(17^2-15^2) - sqrt(17^2). This reduces to
sqrt (64) -sqrt(17^2) or
8 - 17
or
-9.

Fractions are easy. Square root the top, then square root the bottom, divide the two: bingo!
Decimals can be a little tricky...
I usually multiply them by a square number like 100, or 10,000 to make them a whole number. Then take the square root of that whole number, then divide by the suare root of the number you multiplied the decimal by.
Example, 12.25
multiply by 100 to get 1225
square root of 1225 is 35 (use the tree method, or whichever you prefer.)
Square root of 100 is 10
Divide 35 by 10 to get 3.5
The square root of 12.25 is 3.5

Too many questions but here's a start. Get a calculator with a square root. Convert the fraction to a decimal...324 divided by 729=0.4444444, hit sqaure root sign to get the answer...0.6666666.

1). You can't get a square root for negative numbers.
2). For a fraction, just divide the bottom number into the top number on a calculator, then press the "square root" button. For example, for 92/207 you would do 92 divided by 207, then press "square root" button.
3). For a decimal, you just type the decimal into the calculator then hit the "square root" button.
You should also have a calculator on your computer. If you're using Windows, just click START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, then CALCULATOR.

take the square root of the numbers separately. Negative numbers don't have square roots. Change the decimal number into a fraction and take the square root of the numbers separately.

1. Negative numbers don't have square roots. At least not real numbers, they are called imaginary numbers.
2. Square root of (92/207) = surare root (92) / square root (207). Calculate each of them separately and divide.
3. For decimals, multiply and divide the numerator and denominator by multiples of 100.
So 12.25 = 1225 / 100.
Now go to step 2.

Negative numbers do not have square roots with reals.
We can set squareroots = sqrt (top) / sqrt(bottom)
sqrt(A/B) = sqrtA / sqrt B
#1 not possible for real numbers
If imaginary is allowed, then sqrt(-324/729) ==>reduce div 81
= sqrt(-4/9)
=sqrt(-4) / sqrt9
=2i / 3
#2 sqrt (92/207) ====> reduce fraction both div by 23
sqrt ( 4/9)
=sqrt4 / sqrt9
=2/3
#3 sqrt 12.25 ===> change to fraction = 49/4
sqrt(49/4) = sqrt49 / sqrt4 = 7/2
(sqaue root bracket here)xto the 2nd- y to the 2nd-((sqarerrot breacket again)x) to the 2nd to for x=17 and y =15
Did you mean this?
sqrt( x^2 - y^2) - sqrtx ^2
If you mean this, then the solution is
sqrt (17^2 -15^2) - (sqrt17)^2
sqrt(289 - 225) - 17
= sqrt64 - 17
= 8 - 17
= -9
