I think it's because of the flowers and the heat, but I am quite scared of the flies so I don't walk outside anymore because then I have to face them. Is there anyway to kill the flies that's not bugspray?

I suspect your door may face south, right? Or perhaps west?

Flies are pesky critters but are not harmful in a direct sense. However, having them buzzing around the door also means that when you open the door they may come inside your house...then they get things dirty.

I would suggest that you get yourself a spray bottle and mix one cup of household vinegar with one cup of water and spray the outside of the door and around the door frame. This odor although not detectable to humans after a few minutes will usually keep bugs from gathering there.

If your door is on the south and especially if the door is light colored...the flies may be "sunning themselves" for warmth.

What do you mean by flies. Are they house flies, bees or anything else? If the flies do not harm you and may be they are doing some good to your plants by pollinating them, leave them.

If they are house flies you can spray some 'anti fly' and they will vanish.

As long as they do not trouble you please leave them as such.

Here's a old tale...hope it works for you...
To keep them out, fill a ziploc bag w/ a fair portion of water mixed w/ vinegar. Hang this bag OVER your door...it's supposed to keep them from coming in.
The only non-pesticide way is the bug zapper or fly-strips...(but they are ugly) Good luck

They have fly strips as well as bug spray. Flies don't hurt, except when they bite. Flies don't eat much, a little garbage, a little trip to the toilet, kitty-box, or dog poo, then on to dishes, glasses, food. So please don't kill them, we need them! Man!

Are they "in" your door or near your door?

If they are in your door.....get a new door.

If they are near your door...... get screens for your porch.
