Conjoined twins, an anomaly in which identical twins are born fused together, occurs in about one of every 200,000 births. While about half are stillborn, many survive and there have been many advances over the years to help them. The overall survival rate is still only 5-25%, but medical advances are helping to ensure a better quality of life than ever before. Once referred to as Siamese twins and touted about in carnivals, they are much more understood and accepted in today's society.
I didn't really know what type of information you'd be including in your paper, so I just kind of went wide reaching with it. You can narrow it down with a topic sentence that fits your paper best. (I didn't copy and paste, but I did use Wikipedia for my sourcework). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conjoined_twins
