**IF** Ben's account is true (and we only saw very limited information) it seems that while the Dharma Initiative was seeking peace and harmony through knowledge or some such thing, they were preaching one thing while practicing another, cutting themselves off from the 'natives' they refer to as 'hostiles'. So DI were a bunch of hypocrites... why Ben decided to choose sides and orchestrate the 'purge' is going to be interesting and we probably won't find out till next year. I think Locke is there to be the peacemaker Ben couldn't be... Ben acted out on his daddy issues while Locke transcended his.

A bigger question is: How did Ben, who is younger than most of the Others he now leads, become the 2nd in command? If Jacob is the true leader - or is he? Does he even exist? Ben said that everyone has to answer to someone - if Ben answers to Jacob, then who does Jacob answer to?

As for the gassing of the others, they weren't really the others, were they? They were the original Dharma Initiative folks - and very likely truly good people. Ben became part of a rebellious group that is what we know as "The Others".

Oh, and don't you find it odd that the ones who seem to have been brought to the island (i.e - Ben, his dad, etc.) aged more realistically than the ones who were already there? They all looked pretty good for their presumed age. In theory, Richard Alpert should be in his 50's or 60's, but he looks like he's maybe in his 30's - if that.

There are so many questions, and not enough answers - yet. Give it another couple of seasons, and we'll all have new questions....and hopefully answers to the old ones.

I think the natives/hostels wanted to be dominant over the island. Or the invisible man, Jacob is against technology, so he ordered the to kill the researchers.

One more question. What happened to Ben's girlfriend?? She was never mentioned again, but you know at some point they will flesh out that story.
