Crustacean on Santa Monica Blvd. is a Eurasian themed restaurant. VERY upscale, great food and ambience but very expensive and the staff and other patrons can be quite pretentious. There is also Ruth Chris steakhouse in Woodland Hills. Also delicious, much more down to earth than most fancy westside restaurants. If you drive south on La Cienega Blvd. between Santa Monica Blvd. and Wilshire in Beverly Hills, you will be on what's known as "restaurant row"...a street famous for many upscale fancy restaurants. On this street there will be Lawry's, another great and upscale steakhouse, The Stinking Rose, known for its garlic-based dishes (VERY delicious) and several others. You may want to research some of these beforehand because unfortunately many times many of these places have long waiting lists or are otherwise difficult for "regular" people (i.e. non-celebrities) to get in.

If you don't mind traveling out of Los Angeles, I highly recommend Xiomara in Pasadena. Excellent Cuban food, the best mojitos I've ever had. It's not snobby fancy, but a nice and relatively pricey restaurant. Absolutely wonderful.
Here's their website: http://xiomararestaurant.com/aboutus.htm

There are a TON!
Santa Monica - Rustic Canyon @ 11th and Wilshire; Drago @ 26th and Wilshire
Beverly Hills - Mossimo on little Santa Monica; Ruth's Chris Steakhouse; La Scala on Canon, Cut Steakhouse in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel
Westwood - Palamino, Napa Valley Grill
I would recommend the Napa Valley Grill or Rustic Canyon
