If not careful, the answer is YES. But there are some things you can do to prevent this from happening. One don't inflate it all the way. This leaves air spacing for expanding pressure of the air in the mattress as it is heated by the sun. Leave it a little "slack". Another thing you can do is, cover it with a light {white} colored sheet. This will keep the mattress cooler to prevent as much expansion of air in the mattress. Happy tanning.

Indeed. Your air mattress will undoubtedly pop if exposed to sunlight, and the chain reaction of chemical events will cause your body to 'pop' too. So this ill-fated notion to sun tan tomorrow may require some further consideration.
The scientific phenomonon I'm referring to, dealing in the study of airbonics, is called exo-erectic maximization. It's basically the chemical ingredients of the materials that your air mattress is made from reacting with the sun's rays in an explosive manner. Anyone who hasn't removed that little 'do not remove' tag from their air mattress knows what I'm talking about. Air mattresses are designed for use at night and in rooms without windows.
As exo-erectic maximization is the leading cause of spontaneous human combustion, many people are resorting to non-harmful, environmentally friendly spray on tan-in-a-can. It is brought to you by the makers of Aerosol Pants ('You're naked...but you're not!').

They make inflatable matress thingies for the pool...get one of those. I would be concerned with it melting before popping. I think the pool ones are made to deal with the sun a little better.

What he did to you and your child was awful and i understand why he wouldn't want to pay child support, she isn't his child. ((That being said, theres no way he can "lie" about not being paid enough money,he would have had to provide "proof of income".)) If he provided it and the judge still sided with him, well either A) the judge is a @$$hole and seeing as your ex is a cop sided with him , B) he is not your child's biological father so he isn't entitled to pay child support or C) he really doesn't make enough... Then again I don't know your state laws,in your state are adoptive parents suppose to pay child support or not? You can always go back to Court and prove he abused your child because what he did to your daughter was child abuse by the way... If nothing can be done, which sucks in your situation,I advise you to just move on,pay your bills and try to make a life with yourself and your child/children.Hes a jerk and he shouldn't have even pissed in your daughters shampoo! That's DISGUSTING!!!! &&&

Don't inflate it totally...that way it will have the room it needs to expand.
Also--put some type of towel or something over it to keep it from getting the reflections so much...this will help as well.
Hope this helps...good luck w/ the tan!

When air is heated it expands. Now figure that out, if you can.
