First we need to define alien...a foreigner or an extraterrestrial. Now if we examine blood from crustaceans, we find that copper rather than iron is one of the chromatic factors and thence, blue or green blood. The first consideration of blood is for the transport of food or gases to the different parts of the body but the coloration of that blood depends on the elements that allow the exchange of gases, within our own understanding of metabolism. However alien life-forms, if they do truly exist, may have a completely different manner of energy production (eating and digestion), waste management (getting rid of gases, water and liquid) and respiration...supplying gases for cell growth, energy, etc. So the color of their blood would be related to the elements within their blood.

First we would have to come to the conclusion that aliens do exist, and if they do I don't think it matters what color their blood is because I would never want to get close enough to find out, But you can and then come back and tell everyone.

In the movies , YES. But in reality we don't really know whether the aliens (if any) will have the same life mechanisms.

in fact they may have no blood at all.

Blood color depends on the light wavelengths absorbed by its components. Presumably if your aliens have a similar circulatory system (i.e. hemoglobin-binding cells) to typical humans, oxygenated blood will be red and deoxygenated blood will be purplish.
