It is normal for your water to break before delivery. As long as you deliver within 24 hours after your water breaks, dr's will usually do a c section if you go longer than that because the baby is now at such a high risk for infection

It could. How long after sac break did baby decide to be born?
Did you have low amniotic fluid thru out pregnancy? Was cord wrapped around neck?

Normally: the amniotic sac MUST break before a child can be born. Now, if it broke days before, than YES..the child could have died, resulting in stillbirth.

If this happened to you, I'm soo sorry and do check out www.silentgrief.com for support... those people are great, trust me.

When the sac breaks it is called your "water breaks" so probably not. The sac is the bag of waters around the baby and it HAS to break in order for an easier delivery. It makes everything a little more slippery, like a slip and slide!

the sac always has to break befor the baby can be born that wouldnt cause still birth unless maybe the water broke you never went to the doctor and waited for a couple weeks to see someone but thats a super extreme situation

Anytime something abnomal happens during a pregnancy is cause to consult your doctor. The amniotic fluid leaking or breaking is a definitely reason to get to the doctor.

It is not true that the sac "has" to break before birth. My daughter was born with the amniotic sac intact.

Are you talking about the amniotic sack? The sack tends to break before or during birth so I think the baby would be okay - as long as you're in labor.

Your water has to break before you give birth. If your water broke and you didn[t seek medical attention then it could cause infection and other problems.

Yes it can. It puts baby at risk for infection and dehydration.

Yes because the baby could drown in the fluids form the sac.
